the lush, verdant forest you have been lost and wandering in suddenly opens up to a small lake with an even smaller island in the middle. the island itself is obscured by the same green foliage you've been shrouded in while seeking the exit. the lakewater is opaque, a vibrant light hue of green.
 
the tall grass you're stepping out of was speckled with white and yellow cosmos flowers, and asphodel the color of ash. beyond the grass is the same dense wall of greenery you're used to by now. seeing no other way forward, you swim to the island. 
 
in the center lies a small pool. clusters of blue aster flowers decorated the perimeter of the clearing. the water is a bright, saturated blue that's as clear as crystal. though that should mean you'd able to see the bottom, it appears that the pool is much deeper than you can see with the naked eye. something tells you to jump in.
